The main character of our story, Alexei Karpov, arrived in Minneapolis at the invitation of his old friend and colleague, Professor Matthew Henderson. Alexey was a prominent scientist in the field of quantum physics and specialized in the study of parallel universes. Matthew, in turn, worked on the Enigma Project, a study of anomalies noticed in the Minneapolis area.
When Alexey arrived in the city, he immediately felt that something was wrong here. The sky above the city seemed unusually bright, and the air was saturated with some strange energy. Matthew met him at the airport and took him to his laboratory, located in the very center of the city.
